Lady C. Brooks' Obituary
Funeral services for Lady C. Brooks, 79, of Longview will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday November 14, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church of Longview, 301 N. Center Street, with the Reverend Jonathan Jehorek and Reverend W.D. O?Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Jordan Valley Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Brooks was born September 12, 1922 in DeKalb, Texas to Cleve and Eugnia Garland. She passed away Saturday evening, November 10, 2001 at her residence.
She was a school teacher for the Pittsburg Independent School District, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Longview, a volunteer with the Good Shepherd Medical Center Auxiliary with over 8000 hours of service, a volunteer with the Longview Police Department, a volunteer with the Longview Community Ministries, and a host of other civic organizations.
A loving, wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband of 53 years, Wilson Brooks of Longview, daughter, Arnetta Burns of Dallas, son, Roderick Brooks of Colorado Springs, Co. grandchildren, Dwight and Ursala Burns of Dallas, Stacy Burns of Dallas, Ursula Brooks of Colorado Springs, Co. 3 great grandchildren, brother, James Garland of Ashdown, Ark., and nephew, James Moore of Dallas.
