Lacey Nichole Smarr's Obituary
Lacey Nichole Smarr was born February 1, 2000 in Longview, TX. She is the daughter of Candace Annette Miller of Longview and William Lee Smarr of Glenville, WV. She is the step-daughter of James Franklin Miller of Longview. Lacey is the maternal granddaughter of Patricia and Curtis Smith of White Oak, TX and Ellis Whitehead of Childress, TX. Paternal grandparents are Murl and Dora Smarr of Glenville, WV.
Lacey was an outgoing, energetic ‘All American’ girl in the 9th grade at Longview Global High School. Some of her interests and accomplishments during her short life span are as follows: Cheerleader for Ore City Rebels and White Oak Lil Necks; T-Ball in Pittsburg, TX; Volley-Ball for White Oak and Forrest Park (where she was named ‘Player of the Year’ 2013-14); Choir at White Oak; Top student ELA Socrates Award at Forrest Park; 1st Runner-up Little Miss Ore City 2004; 1st Runner-up, Miss Photogenic and Prettiest Hair- Sunburst Pageant, Longview 2004; Little Miss Ore City ,2007; She maintained the AB Honor Roll her entire academic years. In 2014 she babysat and used her earnings to pay for a school trip to Washington D.C. She loved to play the piano, even though she was only a beginner. She enjoyed playing Barbies and adored her baby doll Suzie Q. She always loved her trips to WV to visit her MawMaw and PawPaw and other family members, especially at Christmas where there was lots of snow and she heard Santa on the roof! She also loved sewing and reading. The tomboy in her loved to fish and ride her 4 wheeler and jet ski with her Dad and two brothers. She loved her family and looked forward to big family gatherings and listening to the family stories of old. She was a Twilight, Pretty Little Liars, American Idol and Demi fan.
Lacey leaves to mourn her passing: her parents; grandparents; stepfather; 2 brothers, Chase Michael and Seth William of Glennville, WV; Step-brother Riley Dakota Miller; Great Grandmother Wanda Smith (GiGi), Longview; Great Grandmother Cathie Griffin, Clarksville, AR; Several aunts and uncles: Donna and John Fox, Brandi Williams, Gary and Lisa Smarr, Johnny and KaTina Smarr, Lisa Smarr (Aunt Ditsy), Melissa Farris, Danny Earls, Crystal Vickers, Melody Smith, Becky Merkel, Allan and Alisha Whitehead, Tyna and Mason Allen; many cousins and numerous other family members and friends.
Lacey’s passing has left a giant hole in all of our hearts. She will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 at Mobberly Baptist Church with the Reverend Chad Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
