L. H. "Pete" Swinney's Obituary
Funeral services for L. H. ?Pete? Swinney, 91, of Longview, will be 10 AM Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., with Mr. Carl Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park Cemetery.
Pete was born February 4, 1915 in Love County, Oklahoma to Perry Elisha and Mel Viney Swinney. He died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at a local medical center.
Mr. Swinney had been a resident of Longview since 1945, coming from Lockesburg, Arkansas.
He retired as a shipping and receiving clerk for Standard Tool & Machine Co. where he worked from 1943 to 1978, was a member of the Greggton Church of Christ, and had served his country in the US Army during World War II.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Flora Swinney; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Al Peterman; grandson, Terry W. Peterman; sisters, Maggie Nevill, Emma Hudson, and brother, Ester Walton.
He is survived by grandson, Todd A. Peterman of Longview; sister, Faye Leeson of Aztec, NM; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
