Kim A. Blevins' Obituary
Kim A. Blevins, 63, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on the 8th of October. He rested in peace at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with cancer.
Kim was born to Louie and Dot Blevins on June 17th, 1961, in Marshall, Texas. Kim grew up in Jefferson, Texas with his family and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1979. Throughout his life, he showed compassion, dependability, and hard work. He started working at Eastman Chemical Co when he was 19 years old as a chemical operator and advanced to a supervisor position later in his career. He dedicated almost 40 years of work to Texas Eastman before he retired in December of 2020.
Kim married the love of his life, Cindy, on February 11, 1984. Together for 40 years, they exemplified faithfulness and devotion to each other through sickness and in health. They raised two beautiful children, who gave them 5 beloved grandchildren. Kim was a family man. He loved to spend time with his wife, children, and grandbabies every chance he could. He also loved to inspire and guide family and friends throughout their lives through work, hunting, fishing, or playing ball together. His faith, love, and passion, all stemmed from his deep devotion to Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; son Zach and wife Jeni Blevins and their children Kinzlee, Elijah, and Dawsyn; daughter Brittany and husband Justin Jordan and their children Jace and Asher; brother-in-law Chad and wife Shannon Comer, sister-in-law Christy Comer, other aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, his dad and mom, Louie and Dot Blevins; brothers, Steve and Darrin Blevins; in-laws, Joe and Freddie Comer; and brother-in-law Joey Comer.
To honor Kim’s memory, a visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home, Longview on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM with service to begin promptly after at 2:00 PM. A burial service will be held in Jefferson at Oakwood Cemetery off Line St following the service.
Our family would like to humbly and graciously thank Dr. Socoteanu, Christy Williams, NP, Dr. Taylor, and all the dedicated and loving nurses, staff, and volunteers at Texas Oncology and Chambers Hospice. We are forever grateful for your love and support poured out to our family during Kim’s ailment.
