Kevin Duane Timmons' Obituary
Kevin Duane Timmons, 40, of Longview passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 29, 2007. To know Kevin was to know compassion, consideration, and conscientiousness, and his passing leaves a void in the lives of many family and friends.
Kevin was born on March 19, 1967 in Seminole, TX. He graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1985 and married Amy Nutt five years later on April 21, 1990, forming a union that would produce three beautiful children.
Kevin worked as Project Manager for CCI in Longview, where he applied wood working skills one could only describe as that of a master craftsman. He often created, built, and worked for family and friends. His handiwork serves as a reminder of his dedicated friendship, long to be admired by those who loved him. Kevin was a member of the Reel Road Church of Christ in Longview for many years.
Kevin spent much of his time giving to others. Everyone who knew him knew a man who would drop whatever he was doing to help when asked. He loved and adored his three children, beaming with pride when speaking of their accomplishments, both large and small. Kevin had been the assistant coach of the East Texas Rangers baseball team for some six seasons, and in that time touched and influenced dozens upon dozens of boys. As one player?s mother said Thursday, ?Kevin was an awesome man,? and his family, friends and many young people certainly were blessed through knowing him.
Kevin is survived by his wife Amy Nutt Timmons, children Sara Ashlea 11, Hunter Duane 10, and Kaylea Elaine 2, all of Longview, his mother and husband Lola and Gerald Stiles of Longview, his father and wife Robert and Joyce Timmons of Longview, his brother Kory Timmons and fiancée Selma of Longview, his sister and husband Kara and Eron Hoops of Eustace, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry and Jan Nutt of Longview, his sister-in-law and husband, Robin and Joshua Best of Longview, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 30, 2007 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, 6-8 PM to remember Kevin?s life, and the wonderful way he touched us all. Funeral services will be held at Rader Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10 AM with David Watts, Jr. and Joshua V. Best officiating.
