Kenneth Loring Wright's Obituary
Ken Wright (aka Poor Boy) was born into the world on September 15, 1940, at his childhood home on Laneville Highway in Henderson TX to Frank & Oleta Wright. He was the youngest of four. His sister, Nelda Fryman, and brothers’ Howard & Phillip, along with his parents, have been patiently awaiting his Heavenly arrival. Kenneth passed away on February 1, 2014 in Longview TX.
As many of you are aware Ken had been living on borrowed time since September 1998 as he was not given much hope of defeating the brain cancer that he was diagnosed with…but he did it his way and did for 15 years!
Kenneth married the love of his life, Nancy Kay Keenan, on April 15, 1961. Together they were blessed with a daughter, Tonya Lynn, and a son, Kenneth Todd. Tonya gave her parents two grandchildren, Mallory & Ashton. Todd and his wife Leigh Anne blessed his parents with Marla, Elizabeth, Jordan & Matthew. Ken was also the proud Pawpaw to grand dogs Max, D’Beaux, Molly & Mia.
Kenneth was a member of Longview Masonic Lodge 404 and a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys & the History channel and going to dirt track races along with gardening, fishing, hunting & spending quality time with his family & friends creating chapters in his book of life. His work experience was a vast range from truck driving to owner of Wright Electronics.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter Tonya & her children Mal & Ash; son Todd & wife Leigh & their children Marla, Liz, Jordan & Matt; sisters-in-law Betty Wise and Bobbie Wright; brother-in-law Bill Keenan, Jr.; and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude of support to their family & friends, numerous doctors & nurses, employers & co-workers, Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church, the staff at Highland Pines & Heart to Heart Hospice for being beside them through their loved one’s journey during the past 15 years.
