Kenneth R. Pritchard
Kenneth R. Pritchard was born July 1, 1929 in Ardmore, OK to James and Sallie Pritchard. On Sunday, June 17, 2012, Mr. Pritchard went to be with our Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Norma of Longview; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Joan of Farmington, NM, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Danny Vaughan of LaJunta, CO and son and daughter-in-law Jim and Carol of Midland, TX; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Cindy Blair and Lisa Richardson along with step grandchildren, Joshua Blair and Jordan Johnson.
Mr. Pritchard served in the Merchant Marines for two years prior to his enlistment in the United States Marine Corp. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Pritchard retired in 1988 from Exxon Mobil after 36 years, and settled in Longview following his retirement. He also was an instructor at the University of Texas Petroleum Extension Service, located in Kilgore, TX where he taught Gas Measurement.
For many years, he was a docent at the East Texas Oil Museum where he enjoyed visiting with people from all over the world and sharing his experiences in the oil business.
Mr. Pritchard was a Master Mason and in 2002 received his 50 year pin. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longview where he enjoyed being a member of the Tallent Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House, 5016 Gilmer Rd., 75604 in memory of Kenneth R. Pritchard.
Private family graveside services will be held at Rosewood Park with Dr. Rick Webb officiating.
