Kenneth Harold Masterson's Obituary
Graveside services for Kenneth Harold Masterson will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Pittsburg, TX at 10 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth Mills and Reverend Glenn Phohl officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. He went peacefully to his Lord on January 24, 2010, at a local hospital, after a brief illness.
Kenneth was born on October 2, 1924 in Spencer County, Indiana to Viola and Joseph Masterson. He graduated from Luce Township High School in Richland, Indiana.
He attended various colleges. Mr. Masterson served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1944 to 1957. During WW II he participated in campaigns on Guam and the Marshall Islands. He continued his service during the Korean War in Japan and Korea. After retirement from Lone Star Steel in 1986 he made many friends around East Texas. Mr. Masterson enjoyed his family and his many friends at Page Place II.
He is survived by Maurine Masterson; daughter Janet Splawn; son Ken Masterson, Jr; three grandsons David and his wife Krissy Splawn, Brian Splawn and Justin Masterson; ten great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Berlin and Jo Masterson; sisters and a brother-in-law Pat Lashley, Sally Hankins, Sina and Jimmy Coomer; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Masterson.
