Kenneth Delbert Marshall's Obituary
Funeral services for Kenneth Delbert Marshall, 72, of Longview were held 2 PM Saturday, August 18, 2001 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Brasher and Rev. Victor Becerra officiating with burial following at Rosewood Park.
Mr. Marshall died Thursday morning, August 16, 2001 at his home. Born January 22, 1929 in Wellington, Texas he had lived in Longview since 1963.
He graduated from Southmayd High School in 1948. He then served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After the military he lived in Sherman, Texas where he was president of the Texoma Square Dance Club in 1957 in the Sherman-Denison area.
Mr. Marshall was an expert archer.
He was a manager of a Gibson?s? Discount Store for many years, before moving to Longview where he opened a Bargain Fair Discount Store, which later changed to AMA Superstore and was manager there. It later changed to Treasure City Discount Store where he was the manager until it closed in 1986. He employed and helped hundreds of young people get a start in the job field. While at Treasure City he put in a pet shop which later moved and became Pet Palace.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Pearl Jones Marshall of Longview; Daughters and sons-in-law: Dianna Kay and Terry Forbes of Longview, Georgia Faye and Tony Sahagian of Boylston, MA, Carisa Maria and Chuck Castloo of Gilmer, Carlita Marina and Joe Burke of Waco; Son, Delbert Ryan Marshall of Longview; Brother, Douglas C. Marshall of Longview; Grandchildren, Raven Marshall, Kenneth Lee Parks, Ashley Marie Parks, Aaron jess Castloo, Anthony Ryan Castloo, Kristin Faye Sahagian, Kellie Faye Sahagian, Tanner Forbes, Laramie Forbes, Karson Forbes, Jonathan Burke and Joey Burke.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary F. Reid; brothers, J.D. Smith, and L.B. Smith, Jr., Grandchild, Marshall Anthony Castloo; Parents, L. B. Smith, Sr. and Mary Annis Marshall and Ryan MarshallAdoptive father; special brother-in-law, Elmer Roy Jones and special sister-in-law, Katherine ?Boots? Marshall.
Pallbearers for the service were Aaron Castloo, Anthony Castloo, Tanner Forbes, Jonathan Burke, Jimmy Davis, Sean Davis, Kevin Dale Davis, Wayne McCullough, Frankie Castloo and Kenny Parks.
