Keith McKinley's Obituary
Keith McKinley, a three-sport coach of 17 years, passed away on April 7, 2015 at the age of 40. He was well-suited for the life he led. Keith was the ultimate coach and the ultimate teacher. He taught his athletes to play with determination, dedication and integrity both on and off the field.
He taught his children that loving one another, worshiping God and growing up to simply become good people is more important than any home run or soccer goal. He taught his brother that it doesn’t always matter what everyone else thinks and one experience in life can be worth a thousand lessons later.
Keith taught his friends that life is to be lived, that you shouldn’t take yourself too seriously and that you should never turn down an opportunity for a quick-witted comeback.
He taught his parents that it is impossible to love too deeply and that grandchildren are the best things in the whole wide world. And he taught his wife that funny songs and guitar strings go a long way when you’re convinced that you’ve met the woman you’re going to marry.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Nikki, children Kohl, Kami and Kenner McKinley, his parents Steve and Susan Marrs, two brothers Josh Marrs and his wife Jessica and their children Judd and Jaycee, and Michael Marrs, grandmother Francis Beene, grandparents Gene and Olene Marrs, Aunt Linda Petty, cousin Robert Petty, Tanner and Cammille, cousin Robin and Kyle Adams, Anna and Isaac, Cousin Laura and Brett, Evelyn and Margot. He is also survived by his wife’s loving family The Kennedys and numerous other family and friends. Keith’s grandfather Bennie Beene and his uncle, Harold Beene, precede him in passing.
His family would like to invite everyone to join them in a Celebration of Keith’s life on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11am at Mobberly Baptist Church.
