I can't begin to imagine your grief. Being part of your life for many years and watching the kids grow, i am heart sick to hear the news. May God bestow his bountiful grace and love on you and your families.

Katie was always so full of life and light and adventure. She had a real desire to live life to the fullest and experience everything she could. I could tell she came from a really good family and was always talking about them and their good times together. She lit that same spark in everyone she met. She was truly a remarkable person. I only hope that her light can live on through those whose lives she touched so remarkably.

I am so deeply saddened to hear about Katie. I taught her at UT; she took my ethics class in HDF, and sat on the second row - what a laugh and smile! I can still see and hear her laughing, waving that hand as she smiled from head to toe, getting the whole class to laugh with her. Oddly, my daughter, Mimi and Katie worked together at a local pizza pub. Mimi is currently in Thailand and asked me to express to you her condolences and sadness over such a vibrant life being extinguished. Such energy and such a loss. I can only imagine your pain and sorrow. Please know that others deeply cared about her and she touched many lives. Mary Jane Burson
I worked with Katie at the Alamo Drafthouse. I enjoyed working with her. She was a good manager. She was a lot of fun. She was always nice. I miss her. I am sorry I did not get to the services, but I was working at Alamo yesterday.
