Kathlyn (Kathie) Howe Gorman Russell, 76, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2018, Christmas Eve and was able to spend her first heavenly Christmas. She was born to James F. and Ruth M. Gorman on January 2, 1942 in St. Louis, Read Obituary
My cousin Kathie was a generous, caring, and wonderfully gregarious person. Due to geography we did not see each other often, but still kept in touch through phone calls.
Despite many sad events in her life, Kathie maintained a love for life which inspires me. During our final conversation on December 15, she reaffirmed her faith in God and her love for family. I rejoice for Kathie, certainly now in a high place in heaven. And I am sad for her family who miss her very much.
The word "Christmas" will always kindle thoughts of my unique sister Kathie. Christmas was "her" season--the holiday she cherished most. Anyone who knew Kathie experienced her joy in showering gifts upon friends, relatives or even strangers. She was a wonderfully generous aunt who made my children's concept of "Santa" very tangible.
Now December has become the month for us to celebrate her memory and to recall her giving spirit.
KIM, we deeply regret not being with you at this time. Our thoughts, our good memories and our love ARE with you, Gorman, Ruthie and family.

Remembering my wonderful, crazy, loving Aunt Kathie, who would run out at midnight to get me my favorite cereal, who went for broke each Christmas, birthday, Easter (Valentine’s, Halloween, Labor Day…), who took me to Six Flags and always braved the roller coaster, laughing, while the rest of us stood by with worried expressions on our faces.
Thank you for all the love, support and TLC. I will never stop missing you.
