Kathleen Carr Hoffpauir
Kathleen Carr Hoffpauir, born Kathleen Tunnell on September 5, 1922, in Van, TX to Eldon Oliver and Lillian Tunnell passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 in Summer Meadows Nursing Home, Longview.
She graduated from Amherst High School in West Texas where she was Homecoming Queen. There she met and married J.T. Carr in 1939. J.T. and Kathleen had 4 children, John E. Carr, Teresa Willis, Doyle Carr and Linda Natvig. Kathleen married Eslie H. Hoffpauir in May of 1970.
Kathleen was quite a seamstress and loved quilting while listening to Gospel music. She was a devoted Christian and a member of New Life Baptist Church, Longview. While living in Colorado, she was a member of Smoky Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, John Carr and wife Joy of Longview, daughter, Teresa Willis and husband Paul of Petersburg, TX, son, Doyle Carr and wife Mary of Green Valley, AZ, and daughter, Linda Natvig and husband Vern of West Minster, CO.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Many people were touched by her life at Summer Meadows, including workers and their children.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27 at Rader Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 28, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. James Pierce and Dr. John Hatch officiating. Interment will follow in LaGrone Chapel Cemetery.
