Katherine Dianne Morris' Obituary
Katherine Dianne Morris was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the age of 66. Kathy was a devout Christian first and foremost but she was so much more to so many that had the privilege of knowing her.
Kathy had many titles and wore them all as a badge of honor. She was a spiritual leader, wife, mom, Gigi, GK, friend, mentor, planner, and leader to name just a few.
Kathy was born on December 10, 1956 to Austin & Ruth Mix in Longview, Texas. After graduating high school, she later discovered that she had a passion for education and pursued a career in that field. She retired in April of 2022 after more than 28 years of dedicated service and also was blessed to marry her loving husband, David Morris in January of that same year.
Kathy was exuberant, vibrant, caring and loving. She was often described as a fireball of energy and very few people could keep pace with her. Anyone that met her was quickly informed in no uncertain terms that she loved God and she loved her family. She was a selfless servant and always put others ahead of herself.
During retirement, she lived life to the absolute fullest extent. She and David traveled the country extensively creating wonderful memories together, and, in typical Kathy fashion - thousands of photos. Many of their trips included children & grandchildren as well.
Kathy was a wonderful mother and viewed motherhood as a gift. She cherished her children and the grandchildren were the absolute center of her universe. She was also the center of their universe.
The loss of Kathy will have a profound impact on many. However, she would ask each of us to rejoice, celebrate, and cherish the memories that she was so instrumental in making with all of us.
Kathy is survived by her husband, David Morris; Her son, Trent (Taylor) Richardson; daughter, Kristen Cage; Son David (Lauren) Morris, Daughter, Katie (Chris) Huff and her special grandchildren; Connor Cage, Trent Richardson Jr., Caleb & Chloe Huff & Greyson Morris.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Austin Mix; Mother, Ruth Mix and brother Garry Mix.
