Karren Renea Vanhoose Latham's Obituary
Karren Renea Vanhoose Latham, born on August 6, 1961, to parents Kenneth Vanhoose and Judith Hilton Vanhoose Rose. Karren finished her earthly journey during a peaceful sleep at her home on February 14, 2024.
In earlier years, her home was open to any friend or family member that needed a warm bed or a hot meal. For years, the home she kept was where weekend and holiday gatherings occurred. There were countless occasions with every bed and every sofa was filled; the living room floor filled with sleeping bags and pallets of blankets and pillows. She made room for all.
And all the children! Through the years of baby sitting and taking in friends in need, she was “Aunt Karren: to all of them. Summertime yielded a yard full of kids or a pick-up truck full of them headed to the lake for fun. They were all her children in her heart. Even now, all grown up, they still are.
In more recent years, life was more settled and calm. Karren preferred to stay home mostly with her husband and her mother. They attended church services as often as health would allow. Doctor appointments, and grocery runs proved to be enough for the sake of an outing.
Karren was always content to just be at home. Maybe that is how she became “home” to so many. And now she is finally at her eternal home with our Lord.
To cherish fond memories, she leaves her husband Ronnie Latham; two step-children Denise Taylor and Christopher Latham; granddaughter Danielle Taylor; her mother Judith Rose; Father and step-mother Kenneth and Eunice Vanhoose; siblings Shannon Vanhoose and Sheila Palmer, Regina and Collin Harris, Shelia Griffin, Alvin Mobley, Carlon and Clyde O’Neal, and James Russ. Her mother-in-law, Linda Williams; brother-in-law Joey and Angie Latham and Willie Williams; sister-in law Windy Fischer; nephews Russell Fletcher, Phillip and Brandi Allen, Kinney Harris, Shane Holt and Dustin O’Neal; nieces Andria Hathaway and Christian Tosh, Sara Vanhoose, Meghan Harris and Stacy and Brad Isbell, Ruth O’Neal. Two very close cousins Brenda Morgan and Winona “Sissy” Allen; as well as many more relatives and friends.
