June McCellon's Obituary
June McCellon was born on August 11, 1933, to Bill and Rana Sims in Gilmer, Texas. She was married to the love of her life, Charles McCellon on Feburary 16, 1962. June was a member of Spring Hill First Baptist Church in Longview and enjoyed the friendship of all her church family. She passed away November 13, 2016, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rana Sims, and sister Nell Rose Carver and Brother-in-law, J.L. Carver.
She is survived by her husband, Charles McCellon, sister, Maurice Goggans, son, Rick McDonald and daughter-in-law Tania, daughter, Pam McCellon, step-children, Lesia and Thomas Matulis, and Teresa Attaway. Granddaughters, Samantha and Courtney Matulis, Jammie Porter, Kristy McNeil, Amanda Russell, Rose LaBay and Ely Camargo. Grandsons, Todd and Chad McDonald and Jonathan Camargo and great-grandchild, Kayle McNeil, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank their church family and friends who kept them uplifted with their prayers, the medical staff at Texas Oncology as well as HeartsWay Hospice who tended to her in her final days with us.
Graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 with Brother Wayne Spanhanks officiating at Memory Park Cemetery, 2823 E Marshall Ave., Longview, TX 75601.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Texas Oncology-Longview Center, 1300 N Fourth St., Longview, TX 75601, HeartsWay Hospice, 4351 McCann Rd., Longview, TX 75605, and Spring Hill First Baptist Church, 4000 Gilmer Rd., Longview TX, 75604, in memory of June McCellon.
