June Duncan's Obituary
June Duncan of White Oak passed away Tuesday, September 17 at Pine Tree Lodge Nursing Home after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Services for June will be Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, with visitation at 1 p.m.
June was born Aug. 13, 1930 near Many, La. Her parents were Abby and Elsie Parker Johnson. They both preceded her death. June attended school in Louisiana and graduated high school in
Gary, Texas. She had three brothers, Carl, Phil and Boots. Carl and Boots (Don) have both passed away, but her brother Phil (Clyde P) and his wife Judy live in White Oak.
June married Sonny (L.T.) Renfro in 1950. They had one daughter, Wanda. After the passing of Sonny, June married Ronald E. Duncan Sr. They had just celebrated 30 years of marriage. June spent most of her working career at Sears as the head cashier, retiring after 26 years of service.
June is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter Wanda Barber and her husband Ronnie; grandson Kenneth Barber of California; and four great-grandchildren, Emmanuel, Sebastian, Kailyn and Jaxon. She also has a step-son Ronnie Duncan Jr. of Longview and step-daughter Shirley Young of Columbus, Mississippi.
Memorials in her honor may be made to the East Texas Alzheimer’s Alliance. Her family would like to thank the precious caregivers of Pine Tree Lodge. They made the last two years of June’s life so much easier.
