Julia Ann Staggs
Julia Ann Staggs, 81, of Longview, TX, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday January 13th 2013. The memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Jonathan Jehorek of Evangelical Presbyterian will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Radar Funeral Home of Longview. Julia was born in Marshall, TX on April 9th 1931. She graduated from Longview High School in 1948, attended the University of Texas, and continued on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin. Julia was married to William "Bill" Staggs for over 59 years. Julia worked as a Teacher for over 35 years. She enjoyed time with family and friends, bridge club, and was an avid reader. She was also actively involved in First Presbyterian Church. Julia is survived by two daughters: Anne Proctor and her husband Noble of Spring, TX and Carol Sharpe and her husband Marshall of Fort Smith, AR, Sister: Betsy Bass of The Woodlands, TX, Sister-in-law: Jan Hammett of Longview, Grandchildren: Connie Todd, Walter Stage, Jami Cheshier, and Brannon Sharpe, Seven great grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews, and a circle of dear friends. Julia was preceded in death by her infant son John and her husband of over 59 years William "Bill" Staggs; who stated, "She was loved by everyone who knew her. Life was good to her and she was grateful to God for her many blessings." In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Evangelical Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1608, Longview, TX 75606.
