Judy French Hawthorne's Obituary
On November 15th, Judy French Hawthorne, loving wife, mother, aunt and friend, affectionately known as Juju, passed peacefully from this life. Judy was born in Houston, Texas in 1945 as the fourth child to Flora Lee and Arnett Eugene French.
After growing up in Galena Park, she attended San Jacinto Community College for two years and then moved to Denton where she attended North Texas University and earned a degree in education. Afterwards, she took on jobs such as a taxi driver and reservationist at then- Braniff Airlines.
She met Ric Hawthorne in Dallas when he asked her best friend out for a date, and she suggested Judy instead. Judy and Ric married soon after and stayed married for 53 years. Judy taught at Trinity School of Texas for over 20 years and enjoyed reading, puzzles, word games, the occasional argument, travel with her husband and friends, and visiting her children and grandchildren. She was an active member and volunteer at First United Methodist Church, Longview.
Judy was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her three siblings. She is survived by her loving husband Ric, her mother-in-law Willa Dean Hawthorne, two children, Kate and Casey and his wife Mirna, and her 5 grandchildren, Max, Charlotte, Mila, Madi, and Marissa. We love you and will miss you Juju. We know you are in heaven back to dancing your heart out.
A memorial service will be held on December 28 at 1:00 at First United Methodist Church of Longview.
