Judy Gail Stark, loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend too many went home to meet the Lord March 13, 2006, at her home in Harleton after battling cancer for an extended period of time. She was born to John and Pauline Newman on September 19, 1958, in Gilmer, Texas. Judy graduated from Harleton High School in 1977, and later attended Business College in Longview. She married her best friend and soul mate Michael Stark on June 30, 1978, at Harleton Baptist Church. Judy previously worked for Oakland Heights Baptist Church Day Care Center, was a librarian aide at Harleton High School, and in recent years, she helped her husband with his business, Michael Stark Homes.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Stark of Harleton; three sons, Jodie Stark and wife, Charity, of Kilgore; Eric Stark of Harleton; Greg Stark and wife, Brandi, of Tyler, Texas; mother, Pauline Newman of Harleton; two brothers, David Newman and wife, Nancy, of Harleton; Jimmy Newman of Harleton; one sister, Joy Newman of Harleton; and a soon-to-be granddaughter, Audrey Gail Stark of Kilgore; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Butch Stark of Longview; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Billy Wilson of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Kathy Stark of Harleton; brother-in-law, Mark Stark of Longview, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Newman, and brother-in-law, Jeff Stark.
Family and friends closest to Judy knew her to be a loving, caring wife, mother, and friend. Family meant the world to her, and every Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Stark home was decorated with Christmas trees and lights, and inside family members gathered to share in the celebration. Judy had a smile that would light up any room and a great sense of humor no matter how much she was suffering from her cancer. She was stern in her beliefs and stood firm in her faith that God was in control of her life. Judy looked at the positive side of life and encouraged others through her Christian attitude. She will be greatly missed by all.
The family of Judy Gail Stark would like to thank Hospice of East Texas for their guidance, support, and genuine understanding during this difficult time. Memorials may be made to Greater Hospice of Texas, 1905 W. Loop 281, Space 81, Longview, Texas 75604 or to Center Cemetery, Harleton, Texas 75651, care of Pauline Newman.
