Judy Quinn Childress' Obituary
Judy Quinn Childress, devoted mother, family member and friend, went to her heavenly home on January 31, 2021. She was born in Glencoe, Alabama on May 19, 1934, to Marvin Quinn and Thelma Street Quinn.
Rev. Scott Schulik will officiate a memorial service on Thursday, February 4, at 3:00 p.m. in The Crossing at Mobberly Baptist Church.
Judy attended Glencoe public schools, graduating in 1952. Her family moved to Ore City, TX in 1953. Judy furthered her education at Kilgore College and soon began a career as an administrative assistant in insurance and law offices. She completed her work career at Texas Eastman. After retirement, she worked seasonally for H & R Block.
Judy loved being with her family and enjoyed trips with her children and other family members. She was interested in researching her ancestry, reading about history, watching game shows, favorite soaps and detective shows. She and Toni were devoted to a number of pets through the years who brought them great joy. Judy was an active member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
Judy is survived by her children, Toni Childress and Bret Childress, her brother Tom (Butch) Quinn and his wife, Anita, all of Longview and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Quinn Whyte and brother Randy Quinn, nephew Bryan Quinn, and niece Sharon Fowler Frasier.
