Judith (Judy) D. Terry's Obituary
On Saturday, October 12, Judith Delores Terry, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many passed away peacefully at age 83.
Judy was born on March 12, 1941, in Hiltons, Virginia, to Mack and Opal Curtis. After moving to Longview, she graduated from Longview High School in 1958 and attended Kilgore Junior College.
Judy dedicated over 35 years to the Longview Independent School District as a secretary for Jodie McClure Elementary and as an Administrative Secretary and Textbook Coordinator for the district. She was a member of the Texas Educational Secretaries Association for many years. She was an avid supporter of the Longview Lobos and the Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed attending games. She loved watching her sons play baseball and loved following area high school and college teams. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and caring for her family. She was especially proud of her son Joel’s 28 years of service in the US Air Force. Some of her fondest memories included traveling to Colorado, Kansas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Virginia with her husband and other family members.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years Jerrell Terry, her sons Jay and wife Karol Terry, Joel and wife Kimberly Terry; grandchildren McKinley and wife Sarah Terry, McKayla and husband Colton Logan, Zane Terry, KamiRae Terry; great grandchildren Owen Terry, Lorelai Logan, and Rex Logan; brother Michael Gene and wife Patricia Curtis; sister Eleanor Westfahl, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 21, from 5-7 pm at Rader Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
