Judith "Judy" Pelz Gabucci's Obituary
Judith “Judy“ Ann Pelz Gabucci, faithful wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2024, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 75.
Although Judy was born on December 18, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, most of her life was spent in the East Texas region serving others as a registered nurse. After graduating from Notre Dame high school for girls (Chicago, Il) in 1966, Judy went on to successfully complete the registered nursing program at Columbus Hospital Nursing School in July of 1969. Judy would go on to have a long and successful career in nursing, including stents in home-health, mobile nursing, the emergency room, and the heart team before eventually finding her specialty in urology. In her free time, Judy loved traveling, including numerous voyages on the seas with her husband Ron; trips with family to Dallas Stars’ hockey games to see the Chicago Blackhawks play; and family gatherings with her kids and grandchildren. In her retirement Judy spent her time reading, playing her favorite games with friends, and watching lots of hockey with her husband, Ron! Judy, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and “Grammy,“ is survived by her husband of 54 years Ron Gabucci; children, Steven Gabucci of Longview, TX; Daniel Gabucci of Greenwood, LA; Sarah Jennings and husband Bill of Longview, TX; Peter Gabucci and wife Krisha of Clarence, NY; and Rachel Gabucci of Longview, TX; beloved grandchildren Taylor Gabucci, Carter Gabucci, and Amelia Jennings; sisters Laura Paycer and husband Al, and Dottie Skierkiewicz and husband Al; sister-in-law Joyce Jackson and husband Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alice Boggs; and sister-in-law, Diane Gabucci. A celebration of life will be held at New Covenant Church, 5621 FM 2087, Longview, TX 75605 on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11 AM.
