Judith Ann Brown's Obituary
Judith Ann Brown passed away June 26, 2023, in her Longview home after a brief illness.
Judith, who strongly and consistently insisted, she be called Judi, was born in her beloved hometown of Buffalo, New York on May 5, 1941. Her parents Wilford and Ethel Murray, and brother Thomas Murray preceded her in death.
Judi moved from Buffalo to Texas in 1997 to be closer to her daughter, Kelly. Throughout Judi’s life she worked as an office administrator and retired from Ken Martin Audiology in Longview.
Judi was known for her detailed and precise hand quilting skills. She spent numerous hours honing her craft to impressive perfection and her quilts will be enjoyed for years to come.
Judi’s biggest delight in life came with the birth of her grandson, Caleb. Although she was initially adamant being a grandma was not her cup of tea, she discovered when she met her grandson she had been mistaken! Caleb brought pure joy into her days in a way she had never imagined. Caleb and “Bird” spent countless hours trackside watching arrivals and departures at the Longview train station. As she knitted, watched, listened, and shared in Caleb’s wonder, a unique and precious bond was formed between the two.
Judi is survived by her daughter, Kelly, and son-in-law, Kevin Buchanek, her cherished grandson, Caleb Buchanek, and son, Timothy Brown.
A private family service will be held. The family extends special thanks to Dr Stacey Holder and the staff at Heartsway Hospice.
