Joyce Fergueson's Obituary
Billie “Joyce” Dater Fergueson was born on December 2, 1945, in Seymour, Texas, and died on February 13, 2017, in Longview, Texas, at age 71. She was married to the love of her life, Norman Fergueson, for 47 years before he preceded her in death in November, 2012. Together, Joyce and Norman raised their two children, Greg and Kimberly, in Longview, where Joyce worked for several years in retail, and primarily stayed home and lovingly took care of her family. She took great pride in her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Large family gatherings and holidays were always important to Joyce and she dearly loved both her family and Norman’s. She also enjoyed attending sporting events and performances that involved her grandkids. She was their biggest fan and always cheered louder than any of the other grandparents.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Monroe and Sarah Dater and a sister. Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Kathy Fergueson, daughter, Kimberly Cole, grandchildren, Nicholas Lawrence, Madeline Calderon and husband Richard Calderon, Sarah Feder, and Michael Fergueson, as well as two great-grandsons, Johnathan Calderon and Thomas Calderon. She is also survived by several siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 starting at 2pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Interment will follow services at Rosewood Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, February 15, 2015 from 5pm-7pm
In lieu of flowers, the family would love for donations to be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
