Joy Williams' Obituary
Joy was born on June 27th, 1933 in Stephenville, Texas to Howard & Naona Bullington. And she passed from this life in Longview, Texas this past Tuesday (Feb. 14th) on “Valentine’s Day” at the age of 89.
Before moving to East Texas in 2009; Joy lived in Hurst, Texas for 45+ years. She was the assistant church secretary for the “Pipeline Road Church of Christ” for 14 years and she also taught the 5-year old Wednesday night children’s Bible class for 40+ years. Joy was also a Girl Scout Troop leader and she also worked at the old Gibson’s Department store there in Hurst. And at the time of her death she was a member of the “Alpine Church of Christ” in Longview, Texas.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard & Naona Bullington; and by her two brothers, Jerry & Gene Bullington; and also by one of her daughters, Joyce (Williams) Busbee; and also by a grand-son, Jeremy Cotham.
Joy is survived today by her husband, Norman Williams of Longview, Texas; and they had been married for 69 years! Joy is also survived by her two daughters; Brenda Williams of Longview, Texas; and Sharon Cotham (and her husband, David) of Longview, Texas; and by three grand-children (Amber, Robert, and April); and by two great-grandchildren (Kailee and Charlie).
A graveside service for Joy will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 2 pm at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum.
