Joy Guidroz's Obituary
Mom's Journey Home
On September 11th, 2010, Joy Guidroz was born into a new life. Her journey was a joyous celebration. Through laughter and tears, sadness and joy she saw the good in everyone and the promise of tomorrow. She touched people in a number of ways, from her infectious laughter and beautiful smile, to her wise counsel, gentle touch and kind deeds.
She was a wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, teacher, counselor and social worker. To all of these roles she brought love, a love that could inspire you to be a better person, a present witness, and a faithful servant.
Her loving parents, Joe and Robbie Baggett, grandchild Jason Petro and great-grandchildren Hannah and Alex Saylor will be waiting to welcome her home. She took the final steps of her journey with family including: her husband Ralph Guidroz; children Laura and Tom Leahy, Brenda and Kenny Petro, Sara and Francis Fontana, Paul and Gwen Guidroz, and John and Kris Guidroz; grandchildren including great T.D. and Kali Leahy, Erin and Bryan Saylor, Addison Grace Saylor, Sean and Meg Leahy, Ryan Leahy, Jessie and Josh Rumlow, Hailey Rumlow, Billy Leahy, Robbie Petro, Laura Westra, Kealie Petro, Peter and Kristen Fontana, Audrey Fontana, Amelia Fontana, Evelyn Joy Fontana, Michael Fontana, Mallory Guidroz, Sydney Guidroz, and Ethan Guidroz; brothers and sisters Ann and Dan Fournet, Joe and Sarah Baggett, Earl and Louise Guidroz, and Theresa LeBlanc. Countless friends also joined her on her final journey.
Those who knew her feel the void. Her stories and counsel will be missed. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2108 Ridgewood, Longview, Texas 75605.
