Funeral services for Josie Kate Robinson Derrick, 74, of Longview will be held at 12 O?clock Noon Wednesday, March 15, 2006 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend Leo Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery. She passed away Monday, March 13, 2006 at her residence in Longview.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Josie was born December 31, 1931 in Waco, TX to Guy and Lottie Monk Wickersham. She was a member of the American Business Women?s Association Golden Light Chapter and was Woman of the Year in 1984. She also served on the executive board as treasurer and recording secretary and served on the ways and means committee, contact committee, and membership committee. She was co-chairman of the bulletin and helped with fund raising for scholarships. She was a member of the V.F.W. post 1183 and 4002 and American Legion #140 ladies auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Leo Derrick and her parents and her son-in-law, Ron Fitzgerald. Survivors include her husband Leon Robinson of Longview; children, Jewell and James Bradshaw of Longview, Elaine Fitzgerald of Lindale, Lottie and Paul Hamilton of Ore City, Kay Eaves of Longview, Glenn and Michael Derrick of Butler, KY, and Steve and Dee Derrick of Longview; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Carroll Mark Wickersham of Crossville, TN and Harry David Wickersham of Kilgore; sister, Martha Ann Seals of Tulsa, OK.
