Joshua Charles Whitten's Obituary
Funeral services for Joshua Charles Whitten, age 19, will be at 10am on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 of Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Longview, Texas with Rodney Puryear officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2pm at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin, Texas. A time of visitation will be Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 6pm to 8pm at Rader Funeral Home. Joshua was born in Longview, Texas on May 19, 1994 and passed away on June 1, 2013 in Longview, Texas. He attended Longview High School and Gilmer High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting with his father, fishing with his grandfather, camping and grilling with his friends, and cooking for his mother and grandmother.
Joshua was survived by his father and stepmother, Scott and Lisa Whitten of Gilmer, his mother, Cindy Deloney Smith of Carthage, Texas, his stepfather, Terry Smith of Longview, Texas, his stepsisters, Brittney Smith of Center, Texas, and Stephanie Smith of Austin, Texas, grandparents, Bill and Tommie Smith of Carthage, Texas, Sandria Whitten of Longview, Texas, uncle, Ron Whitten and wife Sarah and their sons, Robert and Sterling, uncle Daryl Deloney and wife Stephanie and their kids, Austin and Abigayle, and a host of other loved ones, family, and friends.
Joshua was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Lewis and Loyce Deloney, Thomas and Gwen Ritter, Mary Joy Nixon, and Mary Belle Whitten, his grandparents, Raymond Whitten, Charles Deloney, and Joy Griffin, and his uncle, Wesley Gates.
