Joseph Russo Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for Joseph " Joe" Russo Jr. age 83 of Longview formerly of Henderson will be held Friday March 26, 2010 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Christopher D. Charles officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Russo passed away Tuesday March 23, 2010 in a Longview Hospital.
Joe Russo was born October 27, 1926 in Galveston, Texas. He was a retired Texaco Gasoline Distributor, a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy, and member of the Summerfield United Methodist Church.They lived in Henderson from 1968-74 and were owners of the Woodlawn Hill Motel. He was active in the Kiwanis Club of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph John Russo Sr. and Lillian Caroline Kunkel Russo, son Randy Dale Russo, and sister Lillian Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife Neoma Russo of Longview whom he married August 9, 1947 in Houston: two daughters Susan Lingle & husband Fred of Henderson, Karen Hurt & husband Cliff of Henderson; grandchildren Kasi Miller & husband Chad of Henderson, Lindsey Mochel & husband John of Morgantown WV., and Reid Hurt of Tyler; great grandchildren Braxton & Ava Miller both of Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Scooter Phillips, Lavern Gibson, James Payne, Gary Sanders, Jim McClain, and Clarence LaBrum.
The family visitation will be from 5~7pm Thursday at the funeral home.
