Joseph Curry Main's Obituary
Joseph Curry Main passed away on March 18, 2014. He was born November 28, 1927 in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late Samuel and Verna (Moss) Main. He married the late Sybil Murrell on April 11, 1952 in Bastrop, Louisiana.
Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1946-1949. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University (1949-1953) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from The University of Denver (1953-1954) with a Master's in Business Administration in Accounting.
In 1961 the Main's moved to Longview where Joe worked for Texas Eastman as a financial analyst until he retired from there in 1993. Mr. Main has been a member of Pinecrest Bible Church since the mid 1960's. He served with the Longview chapter of Gideon's for many years.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his sister's Eva Main Knight, and Helen Marie Main, and is brother Samuel Louis Main.
Mr. Main is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Lowell Paul and Brenda Main of Mineola, Texas, his daughter and son-in-law Anne-Marie and David Parramore of Fairfax, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Robert, Hannah, Joseph, Samuel, Noah, Valerie, and Julia; one great-grandchild, Faith; one sister Edith Maples of Junction City, Arkansas; two brothers Elmer Loyce of Eldorado, Arkansas and James Ollie of Homer, Louisiana; and various aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Friday from 6pm-8pm with a service on Saturday at 2pm. Burial will be on Sunday at Colquitt Cemetery in Louisiana at 3pm.
