Joseph Lee Boring's Obituary
Joseph Lee Boring passed away December 22, 2018. He was born February 26, 1944 in Longview, to Emory “Skeebo” Purtelle Boring Jr, who died March 19, 1975 and Margaret Jane Tuttle Boring who preceded him in death April 22 of this year.
A graduate of the University of Texas, he was a faithful Longhorn who held degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Psychology. Joe was a lifelong scholar and teacher with a passion for knowledge who continued to pursue intellectual inquiries into various fields, including philosophy and divinity. He enjoyed classical music- learning to play the violin late in life- gardening and, although generally a serious man, being silly and laughing, especially at his own jokes.
There will be graveside services at Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview starting at 2pm, Saturday, December 29, 2018.
