Jose E. “Don Chepo” Lopez
Mass of Christian Burial for Jose E. “Don Chepo” Lopez will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 5:30 PM with a visitation following from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Burial will be held at Rosewood Park. Don Chepo passed away in the early morning of January 2, 2021 in Longview, TX.
Jose was born on August 21, 1944 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Cesario and Jacoba Lopez. He immigrated to the United States in 1988 in hope to create a better future for his wife children. Jose was a hard worker who took pride in his work. In his relaxation, Jose would indulge his love in his Mexican soccer team Los Tigres and riding in his Toyota pickup trucks. Don Chepo loved his family, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and was highly respected by friends and family.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Cesario and Jocoba Lopez; and brother Gonzalo Lopez. Those left to cherish their memories of Jose include his wife of 47 years, Ofelia Lopez; children Laura P. Reynaga with her husband Rafael, Ofelia Gutierrez with her husband Joe, Norma Garcia with her husband Noel, and Jose S. Lopez; 7 grandchildren Jennifer, Rafael, Gabrielle, Jeanette, Sophia, Sebastian, and Julian. Jose will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Until we meet again Papito Chulo. Eres, y siempre seras mi mas grande Heroe, mi ejemplo a seguir.....gracias por haber sido mi Padre!
