Mass of Christian burial for Jonathan Frank Messimer, 21 of South Bend, Indiana, formerly of Longview, will be held Noon Saturday, January 17, 2004 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with the Father Mark Dunne officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Friday, January 16, 2004 in the funeral home chapel, 1617 Judson Road, and the family will receive friends at 5:30 PM prior to the rosary.
Jonathan was born on November 9, 1982 in Longview, Texas to Allen and Athleen Messimer. He passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2004 in a Tyler hospital. He was a 2001 graduate of Longview high School, was an art student, had attended Kilgore Junior College, and had plans of attending the Marimount Art School in New York. He worked for Nintendo graphics, enjoyed fencing, and was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Melton and Ruth Messimer; maternal grandfather, Frank Bridge; and uncle, Phillip Frank Bridge. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Allen and Sherry Messimer of Longview; mother, Athleen Messimer of South Bend, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Charity Messimer of South Bend, IN.; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Bridge of South Bend, IN; nephew, Conner Messimer; aunt and uncle, Kathleen and Paul Skinner of Fort Worth; great aunt, Mary Grimes of South Bend, IN; cousins, Rebecca and Kellan Skinner; and his loving girlfriend, Stephanie Parson of New London.
The family would like to extend a special ?Thank You? to the Parson family for their support during Jonathan?s illness.
