Graveside services for Johnnie Wesley Guin, 75, of Gilmer, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Hallsville Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening, July 3, 2003 at the funeral home, 1617 Judson Road.
Mr. Guin was born on November 28, 1927 in Hemphill, Texas to J.V. and Ola Mae Guin. He passed away on July 1, 2003 at his residence.
He was a mechanic for L.E. Meyers, a member of the Woodmen of the World Association #194, served on the Board of Directors for Glennwood Acres Land Owners Association, and served on the Glennwood Acres Volunteer Fire Department in the mid 1990?s.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Guin was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Juanita Guin of Gilmer, daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Kuhn of Longview, Lea and Robert Ellison of Bridgeport, son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie, Jr., and Oleta Guin of Ft. Worth, grandsons, Robin Kuhn, Farrell Ellison, Wesley Guin, Jeffery Guin, Casey Guin, and great grandchildren, Eugene Ellison, Pamela Ellison, Kevin Largent.
