Johnnie Lee Carley's Obituary
Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Carley, 78, of Longview will be held at 1 PM Monday, April 23, 2018, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with burial following at Rosewood Park. Mr. Carley passed away on Friday afternoon in a local hospital surrounded by his family. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday from 12-1 prior to the service.
Johnnie was born on October 12, 1939 in Harwood Texas to Sam and Ada Carley. Johnnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He worked for Green Steel for over 40 years. He was a foreman and a layout man. He loved what he did and took many young men under his wings. In his spare time, Mr. Carley loved working on and racing cars. He was truly loved and respected by so many and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father; his mother and her husband Cliff Godfrey, and his brother Clifton Carley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Patricia Carley; daughters and sons-in-law Twila Thurston and Ricky of Godley, TX, and Pamela Warner and Charles of Statesboro, GA; grandchildren Johnnie Thurston of Austin, TX, Miranda Dyer and husband Zechariah of Longview; Meghan Warner of Statesboro, GA, and Mallory Jones of Longview.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Charles R. Martin, Dr. Saritha Kortikere, Dr. Reddy, and the staff and nurses of Longview Regional.
