John Winston Kinsel's Obituary
John Winston Kinsel, 76, of Longview, Texas, passed away on November 6, 2002 after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 17, 1925 in Benavides, Texas. He participated in football, basketball, and track in high school. During WWII, he was in the Army Air Corps. He received his degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He later lived for many years in Houston where he founded Winston Manufacturing Corporation now Winston F2S Corporation in October 1959. In 1979 he moved his company to Longview, Texas where he also established Royal Guard Corporation, Texas and Royal Guard Corporation, Louisiana. As President and Chairman of the Board, he was extremely devoted to his companies. He loved his employees as much as they loved him. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Laura Larsen Kinsel; sons John W. Kinsel, Jr., George D. Kinsel, Jeffrey J. Kinsel, Jeffrey R. Kinsel and daughter Karen K. Henry; granddaughters Marcie K. Berry, Christy Hayes; grandsons David J. Henry, Aaron J. Henry, Samuel P. Kinsel, and Mathew N. Kinsel; and great-grandsons Robert O. Berry, IV and Jacob W. Berry.
Visitation will be at the LeRoy Rader Funeral Home Friday, November 8, 2002 from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery Hope Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Hospice Longview, 1306 Pine Tree Rd., Longview, Texas 75604. The family wishes to express its gratitude to everyone at Hospice of Longview for the care and understanding they provided, especially Kay, Gloria, and Chaplain Rose.
