John Wayne Young's Obituary
A celebration of the life of John Wayne Young, 63, of Longview will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Young passed away Saturday, January 19 in his home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
John Wayne was born August 8, 1944 in El Paso, Texas, the 2nd child of Frank and Josephine Young. He proudly served in the US Army, attended UTEP and Odessa College. He moved to Longview in 1985. He was a licensed chemical dependency counselor for 20 years, working for Special Health Resources, Sabine Valley Center, and Palmer Drug Abuse Program in Longview. He was also a member of the White Oak United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Matthew Young.
A beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Nancy Young of Longview; brother William Young of Memphis TN; daughter Regina Jordan and husband Tommy of Lewisville TX; son Joseph Young and wife Linda of Euless TX; daughter Kathryn Allen and husband Kenneth of Chickasaw OK; daughter Natalie Thomas and husband Mark of White Oak TX; daughter Danna Riddle and husband Bobby of Prospect TN; daughter Kari Schott and husband Michael of Farmington Hills MI; grandchildren TJ Jordan Jr, Lacey Jordan, James Jordan, Jakob Young, Mark Thomas Jr, Samantha Thomas, Emily Thomas, Trisha Sizemore, Robert Riddle; great-grandsons Jakob Ostrander and Kamron Sizemore.
