John W. Murrell's Obituary
Masonic graveside services for John W. Murrell, 61, of Longview, will be held 10 AM Saturday, December 15, 2001 in the Ore City Cemetery
with Reverend Charles L. Schoon and Reverend Jed Hampton officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mr. Murrell was born November 15, 1940 at home in Ore City, Texas to Milton and Ovie Lee Murrell. He was a Methodist by faith and worked as a quality control supervisor for Axelson, Inc. and was a custom home builder.
He was a member of the Longview Masonic Lodge #404, Past Master of the Ore City Masonic Lodge #1364 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Mr. Murrell also served his country in the Army National Guard Reserve.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 4 PM until 6 PM.
Mr. Murrell was preceded in death by his father, George Milton Murrell.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Longview; children, Mesa Lynn and husband David Reel of Plano, TX, John Andrew Murrell of Baton Rouge, LA.; granddaughter, Karlye Reel of Plano; brother, Jimmy Murrell of Biloxi, MS.; sister, Debbie Phillips of Ore City, TX.,
Mother, Ovie Lee Murrell of Gilmer and mother-in-law, Katherine Davenport of Longview.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
