I spent many weeks living with John and his family during the long, hot Texas summers. We picked cotten all summer long so we could make money to buy our school clothes. Mr. Leland and Miss Bonnie treated me like one of their own. When we got a little extra change we all went to the picture show in "downtown Chireno". My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and with John's family during this time of loss. John, everytime he saw me, assured me that he was happy to see me. He was special and a true gift. Thank you for sharing him with us. Janice & Family,

Jim & I are so sorry to hear about John. Our hearts ache for you and the loss of a great man. We got the privilege of meeting John in a class at LifeBridge. He was quiet and soft spoken, but with Godly wisdom and character. He shared his testimony in that class and we got to see where he had been and how far he had come. We rejoice that he is with the Lord, but grieve on earth for his loss. Can't wait to shake his hand again in heaven.
