John S. Jack Smith's Obituary
Private family graveside services for Mr. John S. ?Jack? Smith, 82, of Longview, will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., with Father Kevin Wittmayer officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Jack passed away
at home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Smith was born December 11, 1923 in Waupaca, Wisconsin to Stanley and Perle Smith. John was vice-president of Titus Manufacturing.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at the University of Illinois.
He was proud to serve as a Lt. in the U. S. Army during World War II.
After raising his family in Waterloo and working for Titus Manufacturing, Jack and Marilyn relocated to Texas to be closer to family.
Jack was also proud to serve as President of the Texas Tech Dads Association from 1983 to 1985.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Titus Smith.
He is survived by son, Bob Smith of Wisconsin, son and daughter-in-law Rick and Sue Smith of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Bob Mann of Longview; daughter Cathy Smith of Lubbock, TX,. grandchildren, Brad and Matthew Smith of Waterloo, IA, Megan, Bobby and Marilyn Mann of Longview, TX.
