John Travis Simmering's Obituary
John Travis Simmering, 48 of Longview, Texas passed away in his home on May 19th, 2022. A memorial service will be held at Lifebridge Christian Center on Saturday, May 28th at 10:30 am.
John Travis Simmering was born on July 4th, 1973, in Enid, Oklahoma to Bud Simmering and Francis Elaine Ruark. He later relocated with his family to Texas and that is what he called home for the rest of his days on earth. He was loved by so many people. The thing he was most known for was his love of animals and children, they drew to him like magnets and he loved every second of it. His favorite hobby was fishing with his family. Many family trips were spent just fishing at the lake together. They will forever be cherished memories. Everyone who loved him knew he was passionate about cooking and loved to feed everyone who entered his home, his favorite thing to say to company was, “if you come hungry and leave still hungry it’s your own dang fault.”
He is preceded in death by both the Simmering and Harrelson grandparents, his Aunt Brenda Morgan, his stepdad Andy Ruark and his daughter Samantha Simmering. He is survived by his mother, Francis Elaine Ruark and the love of his life Felisha Dawn Simmering, his children Justin Ray Simmering, John Tayler Simmering, Christian Grant Simmering, Summer Dawn Simmering and his grandson Colton Eric Thornton. He was also survived by his sister Amanda Merrill, nephew and nieces, Amri Merrill, Asia Merrill, Azara Merrill and Anya Merrill, his brother Anthony Simmering, nephews Chris and Kyle Simmering and niece Sarah Simmering, his brother Andy Wayne Ruark and nephew Andrew Ruark.
