John S. Bazzell's Obituary
Funeral services for John S. Bazzell, 83, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Warbington officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Bazzell passed away Saturday night in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
John was born in San Angelo, Texas on April 6, 1927 to Robert and Kathryn Richardson. He attended Allen Military Academy and was a graduate of Longview High School. John proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was married in 1964 to Frances Gwynell Russ and worked for 35 years as a Real Estate Broker. He was also a member of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John C. Bazzell; daughter, Sherilynn Johnson; grandson, Scotty Johnson; and 2 sisters, June Warr and Nancy Bennett.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Gwyn Bazzell; daughter and son-in-law, Kandace and John Durst; daughter, Barbara Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Charlie Jones; grandchildren, Dewayne and Terry Gray, Wendy and Donald Saladino, Donald Jones, Michael Jones, Jenny and Alan McDaniel, Melinda Jones, Trent and Leah Durst, and Sydnie and Jason Vallery; 14 great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Richardson.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Mulberry Springs Building Fund, 16376 FM 449, Hallsville Texas 75650.
