In both of our too-young marriages, John Clinton and I married siblings, and he quickly became the brother I'd never had. That bond lasted until my move out of state several years ago. I have rejoiced in his "golden years" friendship with our old friend and neighbor Barbara Thomas. John Clinton helped UT Tyler get four-year accreditation from the State of Texas Coordinating Board during my tenure there. This "brother" called me immediately when my firstborn Benjamin McLemore died. He and his sisters always treated me as a kinsman, and his daughter Lynn won the heart of my children as their first cousin. His first father-in-law loved him for as long as he lived. I can imagine these two of my heroes shaking hands at the Pearly Gates as St Peter greets them both with a hearty "Well done, faithful servants" and an everlasting AMEN. --with love always, Joy McLemore
