John Richard Nutt's Obituary
John Richard Nutt passed this life on Monday, October 9, 2017 at his residence. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2pm. He was born August 8, 1928 in El Dorado Arkansas to Robert and Sadie Brian Nutt. John’s family moved to Longview when he was three. He attended Longview Schools and graduated from Longview High School in 1946. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 in the Korean War achieving the rank of 1st sgt. He worked for Gulf/Warren Petroleum for twenty years.
He was a member of Judson Road Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Woods Nutt. He is also survived by son John and wife Carrie Nutt of Longview, Texas; grandson Chief Petty Officer Johnathan and wife Monica Nutt of Okinawa Japan; granddaughter Jeana Garcia and fiancé Josh Wray of Austin, Texas; and numerous cousins, nephew and nieces and a host of friends from church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert and granddaughter Jennifer Rebekah Nutt.
