Coach Wes McWhorter was as fine of a gentleman as I have ever known. Though he knew his battle was going to be tough, he never quit fighting. I know for a fact that he coached his teams with that same resilience and attitude. My son played for a team that was very talented. L.C. was in our district. And I know that Wes knew the odds against LC were insurmountable when we played, he never gave up on those kids. One particular night the score was very one sided and not in LC's favor. He was in that third base coaching box working like they were only down one run in the bottom of the 7th inning. I know his players loved him, and the opposing players respected his work ethic. What a legacy to leave for others to learn from. Never give up, on the field, or in life. Thanks Coach for the kind words you shared about my son, and for loving and caring for the kids you coached. God speed, my friend
