Funeral services for John ?Mack? Wood, 86, of Longview, will be held at Noon Monday, April 28, 2003 at in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday evening, April 27, 2003 at the funeral home.
Mr. Wood was born on September 1, 1916 in Winnfield, Texas to James and Rosa Wood. He passed away on April 26, 2003 in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Wood proudly served his country during World War II with the Armed Air Force. He worked in the Diesel Engine Business with Industrial Power and Supply before retiring in 1982, and retired in 1991 from Commercial Motor. Upon his retirement, he found great joy in camping with his Good Sam ?Loblollys?. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Longview since 1928.
A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his wife Edna Wood, son, Charles ?Chuck? Wood, grandson, Bruce Wood, sister, Helen Foster, and brother, James Wood. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lonnie and Hays Graham of Longview, daughter-in-law, Louise Wood of Albuquerque, N.M., grandchildren, Lisa and James Castleberry, Cliff Graham, Kyle and Lisa Wood, great grandchildren, Amanda and Austin Castleberry, J.D., McKinley, and Joe Wood, and brother, Jack Kenneth Wood of Long Beach, California.
