Deepest sympathy in the loss of John Harrison. While I did not know him personally, I went to high school with his son, David Harrison. David was a fine young man with an outgoing personality and ready smile, a testament to his dad, and how he was raised.
Sincere condolences for the family.

What a class act! It would be almost impossible to equal all of Mr. John's accomplishments - most of which were for other groups & organizations. He came to our home once for appliance repair & visited with us like he had all the time in the world. I know my mom & dad in heaven will enjoy getting re-acquainted with their old friend. God bless all of Mr. John's family; he leaves a tremendous legacy.
Through the years as our appliances became antiques, John kept them running. When we decided to update the kitchen he sold us new appliances and made sure they were delivered and installed. He was took care of us for 30 years. Go with God, John, you will be missed by many.

I will always remember John Harrison as a true and faithful friend who loved his Lord, his family, his church, and his community just about as much if not more than anyone I ever knew.
He was a very kind and charitable person who had a special place in his heart for the future of school children in the community, as was proven by his many, many years of service on the Longview ISD Board of Trustees. He was also one of the most honest businessmen that I ever had the privilege of knowing.
It was also a distinct pleasure for me to visit with John on many occasions about his track days as a very polished quarter miler and mile relay team anchor man. This is an area in which John and I had a lot in common. We often talked about how life is truly like a race, just as the Apostle Paul wrote about it.
John has crossed the finish line at his entrance into heaven welcomed by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as he finished strong in this life.
God Speed, John Womack Harrison, Jr., I look forward to seeing you on the great track in heaven that the Lord Jesus has provided for us. It will be a great pleasure to run with you there where it is promised that we will never grow weary!
