From the time we moved to Longview in 1969 until he retired, Dr. Guttry was our dentist. Words aren't adequate to say how much he meant to us. He was calm, caring, friendly, humorous, and dispelled any fear of having dental work done. He always spoke lovingly about Lottie, and his children. Like father, like son describes how he passed along the qualities of fine dentistry to Robert, and we were grateful to continue as patients. We are praying for your family as you go through your grief journey.

My heart is so sad for the loss of Dr. Guttry. He was a wonderful friend and dentist for most of my life. I have great memories of my daddy telling funny stories about his and Dr. Guttry's adventures. He was always so kind and loving. Funny too. Sending all of you prayers.

I went to work for Dr. John S. about 20 years ago. I hesitated leaving the practice I was working at in Kilgore for 20 years. I cared so much for my patients and hated to leave them, but felt I needed to change. One of my friends and our dental supply representative told my Dr. Guttry was looking. I met with him and immediately fell in love with his smile and his kind disposition. I decided to work with him for a week and check him out. I was very picky about type of dentist he was and his chair side manner. He was the best in both areas!!!! He was undoubtedly the nicest man on earth. I really enjoyed working with him. A lot of my patients followed me and they loved him also. One of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only was he a good dentist, he was a good boss and most of all a good friend. He will be so missed, but I know he is in a good place. Lottie, my heart goes out to you.
