John Franklin Price, Jr.
John Price, 79, passed away Saturday, March 22 in a local nursing home after a battle with Alzheimer's.
He was born February 29, 1929 in Lowell, AR. To Velma and John F. Price, Sr. He served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. He moved to Houston, Texas, where he met and married Koreen Price on June 26, 1959. Hr graduated from the University of Houston in 1963, with a BBA. He worked as an accountant and corporate comptroller for 20 years. In 1984, he opened Price Insurance Agency in Longview, TX, which he operated with his family until his retirement in 2001. John was an avid fisherman, and shared his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren.
Mourning his loss are his daughter and son-in-law, Julia and David Fonteno, sons, Tim Price and Tom Price all of Longview; grandchildren, Emily Bowdoin, Amy and Aaron Wilson, Ashtyn and Cole Price, Sarah Price and David Fonteno lll; great-grandson Carter Bowdoin, sisters, Bernice Kincy, Jewell Mofley, Geneieve Mofley, Nadine Hankins, Ellen Webber, brothers, Bill Price, Clyde Price and Joe Price; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Koreen.
Services will be held at Twelve O'clock Noon Wednesday March 26, 2008 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery near Henderson, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday March 25, 2008 from 7pm until 9 pm.
